Lee Metford Bayonet York and Lancaster Regiment

SOLD

Code: 10945

A very good example of a Lee Metford Mk II 1888 Bayonet. This particular example bears unit markings to the pommel for the 5th York and Lancaster Regiment. It has the added bonus of being produced by Mole, which are one of the harder makers to find.

Generally a good, untouched bayonet, with no serious flaws or damage. The release catch functioning as it should. A nice even patina throghout, which would clean well if desired.

The steel mounted leather scabbard is complete, and in good condition, with some minor loss to the surface of the leather. The top mount is of a type I have not encountered previously, having a screw above the frog stud. I am unsure of the significance in this variation, but always happy to learn if anybody wishes to teach me!

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
