First Pattern Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife

An extremely rare, completely original 1st Pattern Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife by Wilkinson Sword.

This example is fresh to the market, uncleaned, and never previously part of a collection. I am also able to offer a strong attribution as to the original owner, which will be passed to the new owner. 

Retaining all of its original plating, no brass bleed through. Crisp knurling, well defined crossguard with no dings or dents. Blade length just shy of 7 inches. Good clear etched panels, with all frosting remaining to the F-S banner. Light sharpening marks. Original needle point. 

In correct 1st pattern sheath with nickel chape. Newey press stud, and with tabs removed. The sheath has been blackened during its working life. Original owners name to the reverse. Retaining strap a little dry, and could use a feed.

Completely unmessed with, it will be up to the new owner whether or not they decide to clean it, or leave it in its current state of suspended animation. A real joy of a knife, and one of the best I have ever owned.
