Early Elizabeth II Royal Naval Officers Sword

SOLD

Code: 11106

Early Elizabeth II Royal Naval Officers Sword, by Wilkinson of Pall Mall.

The serial number dating to the sword to 1953, so one of the first to bear the Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II. The guard retains the Tudor crown of George VI, showing an early, transitional sword.

The grip is of white ray skin, bound with copper and brass wire, which is complete, and in excellent condition.

The single edged fulled blade with a length of 31 inches. It bears the Wilkinson Sword name and logo at the ricasso, with a star burst with central "W" proof mark at the other. It has the usual floral motifs with roped border. There is a crowned anchor on one side, and the ERII monogram to the other.

The sword is in very good untouched condition. It has been well cared for, and maintained during its service life, with the blade solid in the hilt. Minor staining to the blade, towards the point, but generally excellent, and could be used by a serving officer.

The sword is housed in the correct pattern black leather scabbard with brass plated mounts with twin hanging rings.

Strictly over 18's only. Photo ID will be required before this item can be dispatched.
