A good and genuine WW2 Air Ministry "Ditching" Whistle.
The 'snail' type whistles were issued to RAF aircrews from 1941 and were attached to the 1941 Pattern Mae West.
Not to be confused with the modern copies.
This example is marked '293/14/L1795' to one side, with the crown AM mark to the other above the stores ref '23/230' .
This one is in good untouched condition, with some bleed though the nickel plated brass. It retains the original split ring, although this has some corrosion.
